Explore the lesser-known Rockies, off the beaten path between Central Alberta and the Mountain National Parks in Alberta’s West Country.
You’ll find a different kind of Rockies experience here. Our idea of nightlife is campfires and starry skies. Our best trails are often unmarked, sometimes even missing from the maps.
Adventures off the beaten path take a little more effort, but the rewards are well worth it:Â stunning canyons, incredible peaks, glaciers, amazing rivers and the ice bubbles of Abraham Lake.
Yes, our region is a little more rugged than the nearby National Parks, but that’s part of the charm for those who love an adventure.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF ROCKIES EXPERIENCE

We might be a little biased, but we believe that our region is an exceptional place to explore. This is not a directory of all there is to do in the Nordegg & Abraham Lake region but rather a selection of things to do we think you’ll enjoy.

Where is the Nordegg & Abraham Lake Region?
We’re at the west end of Clearwater County, nestled between Central Alberta to the east and the Banff National Park boundary to the west. You’ll find us along the David Thompson Highway (Highway 11), east of the Icefields Parkway and west of the town of Rocky Mountain House.
