April 2022 Meeting Highlights

The two main items this month were the revamped Travel Alberta grant program and a discussion with Alberta Parks on local challenges we often encounter.

Travel Alberta has revamped their grant program this year with many opportunities for local tourism operators to obtain support for launching new experiences. Lisa Lima presented on the Tourism Investment Program, the information is available at industry.travelalberta.com, and she will be meeting with each of the interested operators individually to help with the application process.

Phil Hofer, the Central Region Director for Alberta Parks, joined us for a discussion on their plans for the area along with the challenges that operators are facing with permits and communication.

It was a wide-ranging discussion, from issues with the guiding permit process to discussions around signage and future development in the area.
