This amazing Via Ferrata climbing route gives intermediate hikers access to the multi pitch climbing experience. Scale a 500 foot cliff on Mt. Stelfox, with safety and enjoyment, then hike to the valley bottom.
  • All technical equipment included (Via Ferrata Lanyard, harnesses, helmet)
  • Wear hiking clothing and layers (what you would wear to be outside all day)
  • Please arrive with lunch, water, a full tank of gas, and be ready to adventure

Via Ferrata is Italian for ‘Iron Road’. It is a route up a mountain using pre-installed ladder rungs and cables. Climbers attached to the cable using specially designed Via Ferrata Lanyards. Via Ferrata increases the accessiblity to the higher more vertical worlds that are normally only accessible to climbers.

Location: Nordegg, & Lake Abraham, Alberta

Departure: 8 am

Ages: 12 & up (Minors accompanied by adult)

Fitness Level: Reasonable fitness (ability to climb a ladder, go for a short run or hike)

Community Days tours like this one are open to all residents of the Bighorn, Cline River and Nordegg communities. A photo ID with a local address, proof of employment and or a utility bill may be required when you check in for your tour.
