The Danish Canadian Museum

This tour is offered in partnership with Tourism Red Deer

A day filled with exploring Central Alberta communities and learning about things to do in the area. This fast paced tour will take us to a number of attractions where you’ll learn about a wide variety of activities for your guests to enjoy on their next visit.

This tour is part of the Experience Experts program offered by Tourism Red Deer and regional partners to help local industry employees learn more about the city and region so that they can share those experiences with visitors. Itinerary

This tour is offered on June 12, 2017 and is open exclusively to Central Alberta tourism industry employees. Reservations are required and must be made through Tourism Red Deer.

Where To Meet

  • 8:00 am – Check-in with your guide at the Visitor Information Centre & Alberta Sports Hall of Fame on Highway 2

Sylvan Lake

Our guest guide will take us on a tour of the town where you’ll learn about the waterfront, NexSource Centre and other local attractions.

Rocky Mountain House

Our local guide will share information about Market on Main, the many events in the area including the Canada 150 Signature Event before we go visit the Rocky Mountain House Museum.

Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site

You’ll get to find out more about all the exciting events and facilities at the site before taking part into one of their interpretive program.

Danish Canadian Museum

Our next stop is at the Danish Canadian Museum where an interpreter will take us on a tour.

Discovery Wildlife Park

Our final stop of the day is at Discovery Wildlife Park where we’ll be able to catch their bear presentation.

Return

  • 4:50 pm – Guest drop off the at the Visitor Information Centre

Logistics

What´s Included

  • A professional guide.
  • Admission for all activities and food samples.
  • Gourmet picnic lunch and snacks.
  • Guides carry emergency equipment, including first aid kits, bear spray and cell phone or satellite communicators on all tours.

What You Need To Bring

  • Proper footwear (walking/running/hiking shoes or boots)
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather
  • A windbreaker, shell and/or rain jacket
  • A warm sweater (conditions can chance quickly)
  • A water bottle
  • Camera

What kind of lunch is included? Can special diets be accommodated?

Lunch for this adventure includes the choice of a veggie (hummus, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and green pepper on a Montreal style bagel) or Angus beef sandwich (roast beef, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and green pepper with BBQ sauce on a Montreal style bagel), juice box, veggies and hummus, fruits and dessert. Please make sure to mention any dietary requirements when you book your adventure and we will try to accommodate whenever possible.
